World attractions and holidays abroad

A few selected travel destinations that i think must be seen at least once. Northern Europe and particularly Norway is a wonderful travel destination. Gothenburg, Sweden – Sweden’s second city, Gothenburg may be at heart an industrial port city, but its wide avenues, leafy parks, world-class museums and lively student population make it an atmospheric place to spend a weekend. Hop on one of the fun and efficient trams that criss-cross the city to visit its many parks, galleries and attractive regenerated neighbourhoods, or leap on a ferry and venture further afield to explore the islands of the southern archipelago.

Top Vancouver points of interest : South of Vancouver, Richmond is not a scenic city at first glance. But the airport locale is packed with sightseeing attractions, from a renowned Buddhist temple to the picturesque former fishing village of Steveston (filled with waterfront restaurants and restored old boatsheds). Located in the latter, the Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site is one of the most historic settings in Richmond, and it relays the history of the West Coast fishing industry. Many also visit Richmond simply to shop due to its large malls with imported Asian goods and vibrant night markets taking place on summer weekends.

Visiting London once should be on the check list of any person who likes to see the world. Ranking among the top art museums in the world, London’s National Gallery represents an almost complete survey of European painting from 1260 until 1920. The museum’s greatest strengths are in its collections of Dutch Masters and Italian Schools of the 15th and 16th centuries. Among its highlights are a cartoon (preliminary sketch) of the Madonna and Child by Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo’s The Entombment, Botticelli’s Venus and Mars, van Gogh’s Sunflowers, and The Water-Lily Pond by Monet.

Mexico is a fascinating place if you are looking for ancient history mixed with modern attractions feeling. The boardwalk in Puerto Vallarta, also known as El Malecon, is a marvellous seaside promenade that border the blue waters of the Pacific. Most of El Malecon is exclusively for pedestrians, making it a safe place to take photos and admire the view. Statues line the boardwalk, there are often elaborate sand displays on the beach, and there are also countless local establishments that cater to visitors. It is possible to stroll along El Malecon and stop for handmade souvenirs, some fresh seafood or a few tropical drinks at a local bar. Read more on hotel bookings.

The Colosseum is another of Rome’s major tourist attractions. Its construction was started by emperor Vespasian of the Flavian dynasty in 72 AD and was finished by his son Titus in 80 AD. The elliptical amphitheater could hold up to 50,000 people who turned out to watch gladiators do battle, people be publicly executed and enjoy other forms of entertainment. This stone and concrete structure, built in the first century, was the largest amphitheater in the Roman Empire. It is considered one of the Romans’ greatest architectural and engineering feats.

Africa is a fabulous place if you are looking for raw wildlife feeling. Cape Town is just gorgeous: beach, mountain, winelands . the options of things to do and places to see are endless. Spend three days exploring all of its wonder before flying up to Joburg to go into the bush. We love Kruger for countless reasons, not least its easy accessibility from Johannesburg (a pleasant drive of about five hours), wide range of habitats and fantastic wildlife. It’s also home to the ‘Big Five’, giraffe, zebra, many species of antelope, hyaena and more, making for wonderful game sightings. After spending some time there, you head off into Zimbabwe, exploring the ancient architecture of the Zimbabwe Ruins, marvelling at the granite outcrops of Matobo, game viewing in Hwange, with its enormous elephant population, and then heading up to Vic Falls.
